Terrorist Attack: Following the martyrdom of 26 people in a horrific terrorist attack in Pahlgam, security forces have launched a large -scale search operation in Basarn Valley in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. The campaign was started on 23 April 2025, which aims to catch the culprits of this cruel attack on the tourist destination.
International investigative agencies, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA), have released sketches of three suspected terrorists involved in the attack. These sketches have been prepared based on the statements and intelligence of witnesses. These terrorists belong to 'The Resistance Front' (TRF), which is a sub-line of Lashkar-e-Taiba and took responsibility for the attack. Apart from this, a picture has also been released, showing a man wearing a Pathani suit shown with an assault rifle, although its authenticity has not been confirmed. After the release of these pictures, the local people have been appealed to inform about suspicious activities.
This campaign is facing many challenges in running high-high, inaccessible areas, where only on foot or horse can be reached. Security forces have surrounded the area from all four sides and soldiers have been deployed in high areas to prevent the escape of the terrorists. The attack, which is said to be the most deadly attack since the 2019 Pulwama bomb blast, has given rise to a wave of anger across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promised justice.
After this heinous attack, the focus of the security forces focuses on making the region safe and destroying terrorist activities. Pahgam, a major tourist destination, is now in deep shock after this attack. Although the campaign of security forces continues, the success of this campaign will determine the future of this entire region to ensure the safety of local citizens and tourists, and to eliminate terrorists.
